Stuart House lies on the eastern side of Marsh Baldon Green.
It dates from 1754 and is one of only three Marsh Baldon residences mentioned
in Pevsner’s “The Buildings of England”*. It is mentioned as an example of “banded limestone”, i.e.
alternate bands of large and small stones, used to decorative effect, which is
only found in a few places in Oxfordshire.
